Sacred Geometry

Stoneware, oxide wash

About this work

An exploration of mathematical precision found in nature and ancient architecture. The oxide wash creates a surface that appears weathered by centuries, as if unearthed from an archaeological site in the Campanian countryside.

The geometric patterns reference both Islamic tilework and the mathematical treatises of the Pythagorean school, which flourished in nearby Croton.
